It's a NEEEEEEWWWWWW CAR! (not really)

Ok, so it's not new but it feels like it. I finally did and alignment on it and put in my rollbar. I do all my own alignments and I've gotten pretty darn good at aligning miatas. I'm not sure if I'm 100% happy with the setup I've got on it, but I'm going to give it some more time before I decide to change it.

(with my weight in the drivers seat)
Camber: 2.3 front, 2.0 rear
Caster: Maxed out
Toe: 1/32" out front, 0 rear
2488lbs (1/3 tank gas, no rollbar (add 24lbs))
~2321 with rollbar, no me, and no gas (it's a pig!)

The car seems to be a little tail happy in hard transitions but hooks up well in hard sweepers.

The rollbar install wasn't bad. I was very glad I had the 12" drill bit. I did it in less than 4 hours from the first tool out, to the last tool put away. The only real trouble I had was the the passenger side rear mouning was too close to the frame rail at first. I had to elongate the holes a little to make everything fit. The car is definitely more stiff and composed. I really need a front STB now.

yeah a fstb will help the cowl shake issue. i have it really bad i have a base model, so i have no underbody bracing....

Is that a typo, or did you really get 2.3 degrees of negative camber out of the front at stock ride height? Or are you running non-stock suspension components?

No, it's not a typo. I'm pretty sure the car has been in a minor incident before I got it as there is some overspray in some suspect places. That being said, I'm pretty sure the front subframe is a little tweaked as the adjusters aren't in the same place. I can get over 3deg on the drivers side but 2.3 is the max on the passenger side. I'm not really complaining, the incident seems to have changed the car in my favor.

That's quite impressive. That's about 7/10ths of a degree more than I've ever heard anyone get out of a stock NB.

Yeah, but I've never heard of anyone getting over 2 degrees out of a stock NA, either. I'm just more familiar with C Stock NB alignments.

You know, a portapower to the crossmember will fix that. I once fixed a SM front crossmember that way. It had +1 degree max when I started and right about 2 when I was done.

HINT: Put 1/32" toe in for the rear (each side). The a-arm bushing are soft enough that the rear tends to toe out while driving HARD, causing your zero (static) to become toe out....makes the rear loose :)
