Pal of mines 2006 Lexus IS350 just spit up an alternator. It is just out of warranty and he is looking for a trustworthy shop to replace it.

How far out of warranty? Sometimes you can go in and bitch about it enough about how something failed just out of warranty and they will make an exception.
One of the guys that autocrosses an S2000 is a tech at Lexus in Plano. He might be willing to do a side job if the part is ordered online?
How much of a PITA is it to replace the alternator on that thing?

My friends over at Executive Imports could probably take care of him. Not sure if that's too far east, though...
When Sewell charged my grandfather a hundred bucks for an oil change I found these guys. They are former Lexus techs that started out their own shop. They did good work and were reasonably priced. Looks like they have a Plano location now too.
