Im looking for shops that install FI in the DFW area specifically for miatas. I finally got the green light from the Misses to boost my car :D. So now im looking at my options of what shop to go to that can get the job done! So for those who know where to go, let me know!

Not you discredit TDR as what they do they do an amazing job at but they are a supercharger shop. If you want basic turbo stuff then you will be fine with them. If you want big time turbo stuff you will have to go non local. I would go DIY.
Please do not go out and buy a off the shelf system with out researching weather super or turbo.
Get on miataturbo.net and READ your ass off. Pick a power level and a budget, get a Megasquirt and keep reading. DIY will be 1/2 the price of any kit and be faster.
Local Mr. BRG is the miata turbo master and myself is his equal on the supercharger side so ask questions.
Side note do not settle for piggy backs. I do not care what anyone will tells you, DO NOT do it. Lot of locals running around thinking there car is fine running 10:1 afr and crap timing on powercards, I was one of them at a point. Started reading and picked up a real ecu, 210whp to 240whp on the first try and every time i cleaned up my spark/fuel for the next year was a few more hp as i learned more.
+1 on getting the EFI squared away and installed before you buy go-fast parts. Well, unless you're check-booking it. Then, just order the M400 and AF hotparts.
Not trying to be a thread hi-jacker but this question is @ jeff_man. So are you saying the powercard is not the way to go? I'm not doubting you, just very interested in that statement. I'm running a JR M45 with a power card and inter cooler. I have my timing advanced as well. I was under the impression that there's not a lot of "tweaking" that I can do. Am I way wrong? My car is not a track car, just a street machine with some get up and go. If I can get more HP, I'm listening....
So think about it this way, with a power card you can only add or remove fuel at 1k/2k/3k/ect with really no fine tuning other then press up for more and down for less and that's only per rpm not per load/boost press (2D map). Now think of what you can do with a adding fuel every 250-500 rpm and being able to say you want 0.001 of fuel added or removed at that rpm range and boost press (3d map). It's like echaskech vs a desktop pc. We have only talked about fuel and have not spoken about spark, idle, tip in yet and the list goes on.Quote:

Another Cosworth user on here is Chris_S. He tracked his often but has sold it and has an S2000 now. You can send them a pm on here for info.
As for other options, Moss has a unit at about half the price but no intercooler. The main issue thus far for NCs is the tune and heat soak from what I understand.
Rumor is TDR will be developing one but since they haven't even made a splitter for the NC yet, I wouldn't hold your breath. However, Gary is more motivated now that he has two NCs.
If your looking for NC boost, FM is where you need to look then find the place in san antonio that is the only place you can get a NC tuned.
The best product of stand alone with an excellent tune is better driving all the way around, they sing instead of waiting for "that hump at 4000rpm". Engine management from the factory is tuned down for variances in each engine and so the car runs the same in New Orleans as it does in Santa Fe (no correction value catalog is perfect). It's will to see how much different John's old tune looked from Rick's tune on the same bottom end and head; they made the same output with wildly different spark numbers.Quote:

Every point on both tables is optimized for volumetric efficiency, spark angle, and more. Some of the little things that add up are picking your AFR for torque and MPG, pulling spark with intake air temp, selecting how much o2 correction and where you want it, and trouble shooting with a screen that shows every sensor on the car and what its reading.
The real question is if stand alone at $700, a wide-band at $200, and tuning at $??? is worth it. If you only look at the peak numbers, you will say its not; there are tons of fast Power Card'd cars that drive well enough and do it for 200k miles. However if you drive a car with a good tune, you might change your mind. There is a reason I'm putting MS2 on my daily, and it's not peak HP numbers. Well, I may see 160whp, but I'll also get 35mpg+, and the car will drive much better.
I think I have my mind set on the FM MP62. Now my next question what is the shop that is a FM installer?
The mp62 unit from FM is the Cosworth kit. The name has been debadged After the kits were pulled off the market because they were blowin up cars. Now they are offered with different tuning solutions like the moto-east tune via sniper interface, and the DP tune. Call up Gary at TDR and see if he will take on the project.
I can vouch for the quality of the DP Tune ( though not FI) and his willingness to adjust the tune till it's right for no extra charge. Also, he's in New Braunsfels, which is handy. He did all Sandors tuning.
And Sandor is on his third. Talk to him first.
