Alright, I've had this box for my spoiler sitting here for far too long. I will be getting my car out of the shop in a day or two and am looking to get it installed. Who would like to do it for me and how much would you like to charge me? Any sponsors want some work? 1999 miata, comes with full instructions and mounting kit with measuring tape.
Why not just have the body shop do it while it is still there??

Nope. They also wanted to charge $800 something for repainting the front bumper cover, yet when I told them they weren't only replacing the rear bumper cover... they were also repainting it... and only charging me $475... he said "That's what it would cost."Quote:

Though they did do an excellent job fixing my car. They even gave it a full detail interior and exterior with buffing before giving it back. I was VERY happy. They use some very nice compounds or equipment there because it looks better than when I had it done myself.
Most shops charge insurance companies lots less than they do people paying with cash (more volume versus more money on one car). The last time I even bothered looking at getting body work done (different car), lots of places would only take non-insurance work during the middle of winter, if at all.
It's like dental work - there is a set price for insurance companies that is much lower than what they would charge a patient paying cash with no insurance. At the offices I worked at in NY, we would charge an insurance company $49 for a cleaning with bitewing x-rays. The same exact thing for cash customers was $179 (but we gave a 20% discount). You take the hit from insurance because you get 20 patients a day accepting insurance, compared to maybe 1 or 2 patients a week that paid cash.
