Oh like you'd know dear..

So my bitter 1/2 has been saying the Yellow car feels like the tires are shot. I've been thinking yea like whatever - what do you think that your a track junkie...

So we drove the car to Houston last weekend put about 900 miles had it overload and drove it over the posted limit for most of the trip. Ya know what the back end was real squirrely for most of the trip especially in the rain.

So today I decide to jack the car up and get a look and look what I find.

So now the question is 205/50R15 Dunlop Star Specs or 225/45ZR15 Hankook RS3's .....

How wide are your rims? Also note a wider tire will be a rougher ride and tend to "track" into the grooves and bumps more. I like the 225s on the track but prefer the 205 on the street.

I'm thinking RS3's she loved the RS2's it had on it before. Plus the RS3 are a few dollars cheaper than the Star Specs.

I can't comment if your going to AX it, but I love my 225/45/15 RS3's on the street. I would get them again in a heartbeat.

I love my RS3s but I can already tell that they won't last long at all on the street (especially in my hands). I was torn between those and Star Specs, and I picked the Kooks mostly for track considerations - where they're positively badass. I've also heard great things about the Dunlops, and I understand they're a better street tire, but they are a little more money.

As far as street tires go, I miss my old T1Rs... *snif* :(

I get great wear out of my Kooks. I only go through three sets a year. ;)

Not the hankooks then. They suck on a 7" imho, it will be pretty sloppy. They are just ok on the 7.5" and really need the 8".

I have 205 50 15 star specs on 7" rims that I bought August 2010. Did 3 track days and daily drove them. They will need to be replaced after the ECR Toy Run next month. I will need to check to see how many miles I put on them in that time frame.
