Even more computer help!

My lappy took a dump. HP compaq nc6220 won't turn on. A few days ago, I tried to turn it on, and no startup. No screen activity. The main power LED is solid on and the front led panel is giving a pattern. I hear this can mean something. There is no activity inside the case that I can hear (HD, fan, etc). Now all the buttons are non responsive. If I remove the battery, the light pattern returns.

LED pattern is:

Wireless: off
power: solid green
battery/charging: alternating green / yellow
hard drive: off

Sounds like a battery fault... Try this:

1. Unplug power
2. Remove battery
3. Drink a beer (or wait 5 minutes)
4. Apply power (no battery)
5. Attempt to power up

I tried. No change.

Any chance you have another power supply? If not, I may have one. If I find it, I'll leave it on my porch where you can grab it at your convenience.

No change when I tried PS #2.

We had a batch of laptops at work with motherboards that would go bad. Hardly worth repairing at that point.

Thanks for the help, guys. I think I am going to see if a local computer shop is willing to give me free diagnostics, otherwise it is time to get a cheap netbook that outperforms the old lappy.

Nevermind, my ::Curls:: got me a powerful new laptop for an early christmas gift.
