Just Got a 99

Well guys I had to say goodbye to my 01 civic (cc was her name STS 14) she will be missed and problably forgoten in a few weeks. I got fed up with those damn 89 Civic si's kicking my ass in sts everytime.
So after weeks of searching I found a 99 Miata with the sport package. It's silver and came with a hardtop. It's time for me to learn how to drive rwd...yeehaw! I took the long way to work this morning and it was fun.

I plan on going out to MW this weekend to learn her. I want to run in CST, but my race wheels that I used on the civic are 7" wide with Falcons.

Welcome to the madness, jolberry - '99 was a good vintage. :wink:

If you want to stay legal for C Stock, you can always have the Azenis mounted on the OEM wheels that came with the car, and use your Koseis for daily driving. The OEM wheels are pretty light (about 13lbs), and that's what most of us use for our track tires.

Besides, a '99 Sport with a hardtop and Kosei K1s looks pretty good, imho:

Does look good, my wheels are'nt Kosei's though. They are nonames that I got for free from a friend. I think I will run them this weekend and next event put the Azenis on the stock wheels. Don't have any cash right now since I just bought a car and the wife is now racing our Mazda 3 which I still need to get her some race tires....

BTW: I would like to ride with some of you guys on course Sunday. I am problably going to be spinning out. RWD baby!!!!

Welcome to the group, and I hope you enjoy the Miata. For now, just run what'ya brung till you get the hang of it, then worry about tires. Falkens are cheap and when you get some, let me know. I can mount them cheap!
Maybe you need to get the Mrs. interested in driving the Miata, that way you only have to buy one set of tires.... :wink:
