I ran out of Zaino! So I thought I'd try Maguiers

For the last few years I've used Zaino Exclusively for my cars. However I recently ran out and it's kind of a pain to purchase because you have to find a dealer, and they are just around the corner, and now you can apparently buy it on the web.

But I wanted to wax this weekend, so I went to the store and purchased Meguiar's 3 step process, thinking it would be comprable to The Zaino three step I've used in the past (Z1, Z2, & Z3, with a spray of Z6 after every wash). I was wrong. The Meguiar's it 5 times harder to apply :( I kept having to stop :x and wipe off what I had just wiped on with Meguiar's. When I use the Zaino, I could apply the whole car and wipe off the whole car, and the wipe-off was effortless. Not So with Meguiar's.

I'm disappointed in the Meguiar's, and will definately be going back to Zaino.

Besides the extra effort, how does the shine compare? I have only used maguirs for the reason you mentioned (easy to get). It seems easy to me because the car is so small, but it does take some time. I usually do a panel at a time. If zaino has a better shine, I might have to get some of that soon.

I've seen the Zaino on our color, Majik... don't bother. It looks hazy. It's fine on the non-metallic colors, though.

I used Zaino exclusively for the first year on my silver Miata. I loved the look and feel. Then, I got lazy and started paying a local detailer. Can't say that I could tell much difference in the Turtle Wax she used. :?

I decided the Zaino that was 3+ yrs old should go when I was packing for the never-ending move.

The Shine Zaino gives a car with clearcoat paint is very deep and rich and glassy to the touch. Granted I tried it on my '90 Silverstone and it didn't do a lot for it, but it didn't have clearcoat paint. On my '98 T/A though it was spectacular, and most the guys over on LS1.com use it and swear by it.

The reason I'm disappointed is, if the Meguiers gets too dry it's very difficult to rub off, causing way more work that it has to be. Plus I'm don't like having to rub on my paint as hard as I did when I took on too big of a patch, and it got too dry.

I believe alt/b works also

(You have to do it on both ends of the area you wish to be bold)

I tried Zaino once, and I wasn't aprticularly impressed with it. I use Meguiar's Gold Class wax, and I've been happy with it.

Practice ok alt b works practice and now highlighting works, maybe it was just netscape at work, since I am using mozilla here at home... hmmm.

I used to use Meguires and concur it is a royal PITA to remove.

Switched to Zaino on my 10AE and on my black car. I'm a Zainoite and love it.
