There will be special guests coming to help celebrate the career of Johnny Rutherford this year. Al Unser Sr. and his wife will be attending. Al and Johnny go way back as friends and competitors. Al will surely have some great stories to tell.
Also a man who is a true legend and innovator on his own, Jim Hall, will be coming to share about his and Johnny’s rise to the top of the IndyCar world in 1980 they won the Indy 500 Pole, Indy 500 race and IndyCar Championship.
This year’s Racers Reunion on September 22nd is less than a month away. Purchase tickets by September 17th to secure a seat. You can reserve a table if your group has 6-8 people.
Vintage Quarter Midget Racing was the starting point for a long list of champions. Many folks who drove these cars as kids will be here to see old friends and witness the display of over a dozen vintage quarter midget race cars from back in the day.
2:00 pm Bench Racing (story telling), photo albums, scrapbooks and Vintage race cars will be on display.
2:30 pm Hollywood & Racing: Kevin Triplett from California will talk about the cross promotion of movie stars and racing stars.
3:30 pm The Big Wheel movie starring Mickey Rooney & Thomas Mitchell on the big screen.
5:30 pm Kansas Racers – Way Out Front: Jim Petty from Wichita, KS will share info and stats about the innovation and great drivers who hail from Kansas.
7:00 pm Racers Reunion Banquet - Dinner and presentations with Master of Ceremonies Paul Page.
