PCA Time Trial/Autocross Weekend 9/29 and 9/30

The Maverick Region of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) is hosting their fifth Time Trial of the season on Saturday 9/29 at Mineral Wells Airport. But the fun doesn’t stop there…

They are also hosting their sixth autocross of the season on Sunday 9/30 at Mineral Wells Airport.

If you have not done a PCA Time Trial, then you are in for a treat. You will be in third and fourth gear on a road-course style circuit. You get 30 minutes of 1/2 speed practice in the morning where you can circle the course as many times as you want in that time. When the event starts, you will do one warm up lap and three hot laps, non-stop. You come back in, and after a brief wait, you do the same again. Then you go work. Then you have lunch. Then you do it all again. In the afternoon, they usually do either two more sets of three or one set of four, depending on the time. You will get 10-12 hot, timed laps, plus warm-up laps, plus practice laps. They have instructors to help get you started.

What does PCA do for TTs in case of rain?

They turn your wipers on for you or you can turn them on yourself.

Unfortunately I have to skip this one. Trying to save some tire for the TT at MSR.

For the morning sessions, wipers worked fine. For the afternoon, a paddle/oar would have been better.
