My Life has CHANGED

I have had a very rough time the last 6 months. It all started in Aug. My wife cheated on me 3 Aug 12. I still wanted to stay with her. She insisted we were "broke" and no fixing us. It really hit me hard. VERY HARD. I couldn't believe that the woman I loved more than myself wanted to leave me. She was everything to me. I couldn't take it.

I ended up spending 2 months in Parkland with 40% 2d and 3d degree burns.
I have had some good friends helping me get back to some kind of normal since I got out of the hospital 6 Nov 12.

I am still no where near 100% physically, mentally, or emotionally.

The divorce was finalized 10 Jan 13.
My wife got my daughter and I got my house. I move back in tomorrow.

I am still trying to find a good job but it is hard to focus and get motivated.

Just gotta keep at it and know that opportunity awaits down the road. You are starting a new chapter, so write it the way you want it to be.

Thanks for sharing, I will be sure to count my blessings today. Let us know if there's anything else we can do. What type of experience do you have? Maybe we can keep our eye out for employment opportunities in the area.

Job Stuff:
I am good with computers, good with people, good at driving, not good at working on cars. I would prefer something inside at a desk just because I know I won't run into any physical limitations. I get tired a lot easier but I am going to gym and trying to get back in shape.

Help stuff:
I am short cash and still need basic stuff for the house. I need a bed and a vaccuum if anyone has one they don't need anymore.

Today started out crappy but ended on a few good notes.

My rental car got towed this morning. I got a rental so I could get to work since I was carless.
Had to pay $296 to get it out of the impound.
I had to be in court by 130p and I didn't get my car back till 1230p. Had to go to court today for family violence because my wife said I pushed her. Even the PO that took her statement told me he knew she was lying but said he still had to take the report. The detective who did the investigation and issued the Class C ticket told me to take her to court cause she would lose. So I had to pay $256 for an attorney.
Then $258 for clothes (pants, shirt, shoes, belt at Casual Male XXL because no one else carries my size pants 40-34 and because I had 30 min to get them and make it to the courthouse on time) because I don't have any except sweats because my burns make it painful to wear pants/slacks. Then I sat in court for 20 min (not long luckily..attorney let me leave early since it was just a hearing to say if I wanted to go to trial or not), but it was very painful having to have my shirt tucked in and a belt on.

Then the good stuff started:
I got my Miata back.
I moved back into my house, sorta.
I got the internet turned on.

Unsure:
Some of the stuff my wife left in the house included her notes during our divorce. Reading it was very interesting. She talks about how I abused her, and she is scared of me. How I am a threat to my daughter and her, and that she thought she deserved everything and I should get nothing for how I treated her. I just don't know where she came up with ANY of that. I have NEVER hurt her, I supported her through everything, got her her last two jobs (PT at Alamo doing paperwork for Brice) and internship at Alcon (I wrote the 300 word letter that was the only criteria for getting selected, her version was GRADE SCHOOL LEVEL SHIT! I have a buddy who has a Masters in Journalism and I showed it to him and he couldn't even finish it was soo bad.) Even when she CHEATED on me, I told her it was my fault, too. That I had become complacent and that I was sorry I made her cheat on me. Then when she wanted a divorce, I said OK, but to wait till 15 Sep 12 to see if we could work it out and then I would pay for it. I did everything to try and make her happy. Even her best friend stopped being friends with her because she heard all her lies and saw how she was treating me. She has been helping me out since I got out of the hospital. Even her family has distanced themselves from her over this. Her dad even called my mom while I was in the hospital to apologize for how Theresa was acting. It still hurts to think about it. I loved her more than the earth and life itself...::Bawl::

OH, did I mention her cousin's law firm did her case PRO-BONO for her. I spent >$8k.

What's left:
I need to get most of my stuff from my mom's house in Bedford.
If anyone has a Uhaul or similar available for use I would really appreciate it.

I have a spare twin box spring sitting in my garage that I was going to take to the dump. I have two twin mattresses that I'm currently using in my king size bed. They both have seen better days. But I need to buy a king size mattress anyways for that bed. If nobody else has a bed they can donate, I can try to get that mattress soon and give you the old twins. Just let me know.

Im really sorry to hear the outcome of a relationship that you obviously cherished and lacked the spouse to do the same. I believe "what goes around comes around" and although i try to never wish evil on people, i certainly dont wish happiness for them till they right there wrongs. People are the most intelligent creatures on Earth(some may dispute that:rolleyes: )and yet they are the only species to exhibit such cruelty. I too am married and told my wife before we even started dating that i had long ago made up my mind that if someone cheated on me then i wouldn't want to know who, what, when, where or why but that i would simply "wash my hands" of the situation and move on which obviously is easier said then done. I find it interesting that women being "naturally inclined to nurturing" can be the coldest and most deceitful. I always said that if Satan was a certain gender/race that would be a Caucasian Woman.(think Bedazzled)

You displayed that you are the better person by wanting/trying to make it work and you have my utmost sympathies but more importantly my best wishes to your future endeavors and think you are better off on this path then the previous journey.

Thanks. I think gender not race would be correct on your statement, my XWIFE is 1/2 black, 1/2 Japanese. I felt the same way as you concerning adultery, but I loved her too much. I wanted to make things "right" and "learn" from the experience. I actually took part of the blame.
