Both are impractical but the SLS is more unique and exciting (though I wouldn't spend my $200k on either). Why would any one pay more for the SL over the SLS?

Because you don't even look at the price when you are spending that much on a car, I suppose.
The SL65 has a twin turbo V12 w/ 621 hp and 738 tq and it comes with a PRHT. The SLS has a pedestrian NA V8 and ragtop.
I guess PRHT could sway some people, but the SLS, even with its pedestrian V8, is faster.
