Intro-Helmking
Hello to all. I've been lurking for several months and finally decided to post an introduction.
In October 2012 I obtained my first Miata through Craigslist barter... a 1993 white package A with an automatic transmission. This car was so mechanically trashed it should have gone to the scrap heap.
I know that I could have purchased a quality "ready to drive" Miata for what I've put into this car. But that's the fun part of specialty cars like the Miata. As the cliche' goes: 20 minutes and 20k doesn't make you a car guy or gal. You have to turn a few wrenches to really know and enjoy what you are driving around in.:drive: IMHO...
From the new convertible top to the anti squeal springs on the brakes I have gone through this car. All that's left to do is new paint. Its not a show car, or spec car, but a daily driver with 138k on the clock. The resurrection was done with O'reilly and ebay's parts, lol :D, and from the tech info and advice from this and other Miata sites.
Thank you to all that have contributed, it made life so much easier having these resources available.
Keep up the good work!

I have added photo's to my album for everyone to view and comment on. To show that with a little work even non-working broken down Miata's can be resurrected to a great daily driver.
