Solo Nats practice at A&M Riverside Annex Aug 17-18

The best concrete site available in our area, with a surface similar to Lincoln. From the TAMSSC website (I changed the dates to reflect the latest info...more to come):



Time for the (third) summer 2013 autocross practice on (August 17 and 18) Come join us for two full days of unlimited practice runs to get prepared for the coming (National) event!

The event will be located at the A&M Riverside Annex near the intersection of Highways 21 and 47.

A breakdown of each day's schedule:

• Saturday and Sunday, (August 17 and 18).
• Gate/Tech opens: 8:30 am
• First car out: ~9:15 am.
• Gate closes: ~2:00 pm
• Tech closes: ~2:30 pm.
• Event shut-down: ~4:15 pm

There is no preregistration required for this event; show up, pass tech, and drive! We will have loaner helmets available if needed.

Cost:

• $15/day for members, $20/day for non-members .
• $20/weekend for members, $30/weekend for non-members.

In you can't make it to this event, our next practice will be on the weekend of August 17th and 18th.

There's also the TX Region autocross on Sunday, August 18th at Dallas Raceway in Crandall.

So this event is on 17th-18th. At the end of the first post it says the next one will be on the 17th-18th. ???

I copied it from their website for the 2nd event earlier this month...

And, YES! I completely intend on practicing on Saturday, and running the TX Region event on Sunday...:burnrubr:

Aaron and I are going Saturday. Anyone else making the trek?

Sharon & I will be there Saturday to scrub in some tires.

Stan & I are planning on Saturday (as long as work doesn't get in the way).

There's an interesting thread on FB about the practice. Apparently the A&M group run events a bit differently than the typical events we're all used to.

The good news is that Andy Hollis will be setting up a separate small course (no timer) so folks can get a feel/tune for the similar Nationals site surface.

I saw that thread. Mad props to Andy for setting up. I trust his intimate knowledge of national courses!

First time going to CS...My map says to get off of 45 at Texas OSR to get to TX-21. Is going through Waco a faster way?

To College Station I take the I-45, Texas OSR, route after trying to come from Waco to Hillsboro at 8pm on a Sunday night (stop an go traffic for what seemed like 15 miles). When they finish the construction I-35 may be better, or may be not. Texas OSR is very rough, so be prepared to slow down.

Yep, 45 to OSR takes you right to it, much better than 35
