Looks like a good tech day project! Then we can see 'how-to' retro install factory cruise after that!
i did mine, it was pretty easy taking it out, but putting it in sucked. its hit or miss, and most of the time it was miss. i did it without taking the valve cover off. all i had was a little mirror :?
Well the POS has been leaving little POS oil drops on the garage floor, so I decided to change the O-Ring on it tonight. Looks like I have a leak on the backside of the motor, I'm hoping it was this seal. Plan to take the pressure washer to the car tomorrow and see if I can get it a bit cleaner to verify I got the leak!
The above procedure worked really well. But I did pull the CAS out of the car so I could clean it up, that made it slightly more difficult to put back in the car, but I like clean motors. But when I lined up the mark the timing was just was I started at 10 degrees. I also bumped the timing to 14 degrees tonight and got the idle back down to around 800 8) .
I second the putting it back on is a pain. I also found that some of the bolts near the back of the valve cover were loose. It might be a good time to check those while you are there.
