Help - Relocating to Fort Worth, anyone have job recommendations for an Engineer?
Hello all,
As the title implies, I'm hoping to relocate to Fort Worth, to be with my girlfriend (and, if all goes according to plan, future wife). I currently live in upstate NY and work as a mechanical engineer at a nuclear power plant. I graduated from Cornell University with my BS in MechE 5 years ago and have worked at my current job since.
So, just throwing this out there, does anyone have recommendations of places I should apply? I'm looking at Comanche Peak, since it's a nuclear plant, but Luminant isn't doing so well right now; I haven't heard back and they only have a handful of jobs posted. Lockheed Martin comes to mind, as well as Alcon, but I don't know of the other big companies in that area.
I also see that Ford Motor Company has an office in Fort Worth; does anyone know what they do there? Ford doesn't have any jobs posted for this location (and hasn't for the last year or so), but the auto industry is where a lot of my interest lies. I specialize in heat exchangers and heat transfer systems, which apply to just about every field.
Can't wait to get down to Fort Worth...as a side note, the M-tuned coolant reroute I put in my car this summer sounded great for Texas track days. However, DD'ing my car to work on 35 degree mornings results in my coolant temp maxing out at about 150 degrees; my car needs warmer weather. A pizza box in front of the radiator is working just fine for now though!
Oh, and my car is a '99 base with a BRP Hotside MP62. Lots of other mods; I'll have to edit my sig at some point...
