I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier V6 that is throwing a cat code(s) and I need it fixed on the cheap. As soon as its fixed I will sell the truck. Anyone have some experience with a cheap shop that does decent work?
Thanks

FWIW If it just the bolt in :cat: I order a new :cat: on Amazon built by flowmaster for under $125.00 and bolted it in my Ranger myself.
I agree that was my thought too, the fear is that truck has 2 front and 2 rear cats, and I have no idea which one is bad. That adds up pretty quick for replacement. I figure someone with a little more knowledge or a tool to find the bad one may save me money.
I've had great luck with Pronto Muffler by 75. They are cheap and do good work.
yeah, +4...
Do you have a code reader? It should be identifying which bank is getting a bad sensor reading. Alternately, you can try using a spark plug anti-fouler to fool the sensor, then move it around until the code goes away. That will establish which portion of the system is throwing the code. (or identify a bad o2 sensor)
nope, no code reader. Do you have one that we can hook up? Maybe I can meet you at Kellers next week? I used the spark plug trick for the 2 rears and no difference. I will move those to the front ASAP and see if that helps. Good idea on that. :-)
Yes, I have a code reader, you are welcome to come use, or at Kellers next week. Jack Junkies also has a really good one, if you want to spin by there. Autozone will actually read codes for you and give you a printout for free, though they are sometimes tedious to deal with.
