my mspnp2 headache

At first I installed it and it wouldn't start my car because it wasn't getting an RPM signal so I sent it back to diyautotune to get it fixed.

When I got it back I hooked it up and it started WOOHOO! but then my car sounded like a lawnmower. checked plugs and they were kind of dirty but fine. then I checked to see if all my injectors were firing with a stethoscope. Turns out Cyl 4 wasn't clicking like the others. Left it there for a few days and started it up again. A MIRACLE all 4 injectors were working so I guess that wasn't the MSPNP fault. Replaced the fuel filter and put in my new injectors anyways.

So the entire time i was doing this I couldn't get my AFR numbers to match between the gauge and tunerstudio so i couldn't use VEAL to tune it or it would give me an awful idle.

So Tonight as i write this my car is "running" on a base map.


both outputs set to innovate fault 0v= 7.35 and 5v= 22.39 my gauge will read 13-14 at idle and 8-9 on tunerstudio. Got the LC-2 Grounded at the ECU ground point at the front of the engine and my gauge ground is tapped into that. Tried both the default lc-1/lc-2 setting and custom linear wideband setting in tunerstudio with no luck. Pretty sure i've played with all the settings regarding AFR in tunerstudio and LM Programmer. I Tried using 0v=10 and 5v=20 no luck either.

I'm pretty sure everything is wired correctly but at this point it looks like I'm going to have to undo all the wiring get some new wires and do it again unless someone has some ideas or some local mspnp expert will come help me fix it :( or i can try and limp it to you if you live close by

Difference that big is definitely setup, not wiring.

Have you measured the LC-2 output with a multimeter? The LC-2 output to the MSPNP is configurable using Innovate SW. That's where I would start and then move on to the MSPNP after that (i.e., make sure you know exactly what voltage the LC-2 is putting out).

I'm in Granbury if you want help this weekend (you bought a roll bar from me). I have direct experience with LC-1 and MSPNP Gen 1, but I don't think what you have is too different.

FWIW, we had to solder at least one injector driver inside all but one or two MSPnPs we got when we were working with DIYAutoTune. Literally all but one or two units had to be opened and fixed. It got bad enough we cut our losses and moved on.

That said, I would personally start by opening the MS and looking at every single solder joint in it.

Swapped my outputs from my LC-2 now my mspnp rads normal numbers and my Gauge reads 8 like all the time. so it looks like my mspnp is not the issue

The analog outputs on the LC-2 can be programmed and can be setup to behave differently. For example, one can be setup to give a WBO2 output between 0-5VDC while the other can be setup to simulate a NBO2 (switching from 0 to 1VDC at stoichiometric). Sounds like you better connect to the LC-2 and check the output setup -- confirm how you set it up with a multimeter measuring the output.

Your gauge and MSPNP are fine.

From the LC-2 Installation Manual section 5.3.1:

Factory Programmed Defaults:

Analog Output 1 is programmed to output between 0 V for an AFR of 7.35(gasoline) and 5.0V for an AFR of 22.39. Analog Output 2 is 1.1 V for anAFR of 14 and .1 V for an AFR of 15. Other settings, of course, are easily programmable between the minimum and maximum range specified earlier.
