Evil KK can change a battery; of that I'm certain. Stop trying to make yourself more important than you really are. :)
I like O'reilly's. Battery failed and I get a new one for free!
AGM Batteries as used in NA & NB Miatas are a bit different than your run of the mill battery so you need to make sure the yahoo knows the difference.
Quote:
One of the differences with the AGM battery compared to the wet-cell battery is the recharge rate. That is, how fast you can put energy back into the battery. With a wet-cell battery you can "quick charge" it at about 20 amps or more. Usually this is when you would boil the electrolyte right out of the battery. The AGM batteries require a lower charge rate, for a longer time period. If your battery will not crank the engine, you should charge the battery at a rate of 1 amp or less for 18-24 hours. If you try and charge it like a wet-cell battery, you will destroy the battery.
The O'Reilly's in Lewisville keeps one in stock. Pick one up here, take it up there, install it and take the poor college student out for a good dinner.
Ah no!
I was just up in Stroud, Okla Sunday to run the NEOKLA SCCA event with KK. ;-)

Talked to her tonight car seems to be starting OK since she had it jump started.
They can test AGM. They've done the AGM from my bike, my Jeep, and my RV. I have all batteries that sit quite a bit tested yearly despite being maintained. I don't like surprises when I want to play with my toys. Most people can read a label. Or maybe the parts shops workers are just smarter on the east side of the 'plex. ;)
Anyway...hope it all works out. My son is in school out of state. I know how it is trying to then taken care of remotely.
Back to the fun! Car is home.
Hooked up my Harley Neighbors fancy battery charger (has an AGM mode) and the battery came in at 62% and that is after recently making a high speed run back in from Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Give her one as an early Christmas present.
