Long story short I got tagged this weekend by Central Texas' finest revenue generators in the Murano, speeding and registration out. Problem is the CEL is on due to Nissan's shitty CVT, the code is from the stepper motor supposedly malfunctioning. It's not. No I don't care, shifts fine and will cost a new transmission to fix. It is a pain in the ass to get it inspected, which is why my registration is out and why it's tagged onto the bullshit ticket that I can't fight.
Here's the process, the CEL cycles on & off randomly. We are waiting for it to clear to get it inspected, but if I clear it with one of those handy OBD2 readers it will put it in a 'not ready' state, is this correct? Is it possible to clear it and get it inspected? Apologies I don't have time at the moment to wade through all teh conflicting information on the intewebs so i'm throwing it here hoping someone will google this for me ;)
