SCCA still trying to sunset NA's (and now NB's), it never ends.
The only difference that comes to mind, are forged internals in the '09+ cars. HP ratings are the same AFAIK.
So I wonder what the rationale is, then.
Also, if all the FS to DS and CS to DS moves occur, will the FRS/BRZ have stiffer competition than in CS?
I think the NB can do as well as the NC in CS. The 06-08 suspension is just so bad. The TRD-equipped BRZ will stay in CS, as will the 09+ NC's. The 09+ do get better internals, but they also get 500 rpm more, and drastically better suspension ride height in the last 3-4 years of Club editions. I think they are creating a mess with the attempt to reshuffle Street already. P-cars seem to be getting a lot of love for some reason, despite being lousy autox cars in-general, and costing mucho $$$ to buy performance parts for.
If the Abarth gets to come to HS, then the new 1.5T Mini base sure as hell shouldn't be in GS.
ES is trying to mimic Class 1 at NTAXS. #trendsetter
DS is currently dominated by the base WRX at National level events. The Audi TT and the MINI JCW are competitive locally. Top non-WRX was 6th at Lincoln in 2015, while an Audi TT was 3rd in 2014. The WRX owned all the other top spots.
Looking at local times, I think the twins and the current DS cars will be pretty close. But DS also gets a ton of FS cars coming in that I have no clue about their performance.
Having owned na/nb/nc i dont see a non-MSR NC regardless of breed being that big of a threat to a NB sport or a Shinsen in ES if properly set-up. Power never offsets weight and handling and a 5spd NB has that in spades in street trim. But then i have a NB now for just such a project once we are done with the csp car.
