Suicide by Harley

So I am coming home from a gig tonight and this crazy man on a Harley nearly takes the front end of my Exterra off, I mean closer than close....I am pulling a trailer loaded with equipment too.
I did'nt do anything to piss this guy off, and just figured he was messing with me.
He slowed down in front of me causing me to lay on the brakes.
plays with me some more then takes off down the road to do the same thing to another car about a quarter mile up the road from me (still driving slow and trying to stay away from him)
I can't figure out why this guy was doing such a stupid thing other than trying to kill himself, If I had done one thing any different he would have succeeded most likely taking me and my wife with him.
What a crazy world we live in, just makes you pay more attention while driving on the road I guess.
Just thought I would share.

From what you describe, a cell phone call to the police about an erratic/aggressive motorcyclist would have been appropriate. Sounds like someone who needs to spend a little time off his bike...

I agree a call was in order, wonder what his Blood alcohol level was at during his reign of terror…..

Yeah, the problem is if he does that maneuver in front of someone that isn't really paying attention, they might hit -- and hurt/kill -- him. He will have gotten what he deserved, but the person hitting him will also be involved through no real fault of their own. Could mean jail-time for the "hitter" (in a rear collision, it's almost always the driver in the back who is cited as "at fault"), and it would be traumatic for them at the very least. I mean, imagine how you'd feel to have hit a motorcyclist and hurt/killed them...even if it wasn't really your fault.

That's why a phone call was in order. That person needed to be stopped before his actions infringed on someone else's life. I couldn't care less about what someone else chooses to do with their life, as long as their actions do not affect anyone else (and I'm not talking about something as esoteric as the "butterfly effect").

Is this where I insert one of my police career war stories? You know, the one after midnight involving the motorcycle wreck minus the rider's helmet and contents....finally found around sun-up 150 yards away from impact...heavy helmets roll like a :bball: At least the helmet had a snug fit.

Reminds me of a friend of a friend story... he was in a motorcycle accident while wearing a helmet. :wheelcha: It took him a year before he could walk on his own... It is several years later, and he still has crash related issues. He is riding a bike again, but he no longer wears a helmet. When asked why, he will tell you that he loves riding, but he has come to the realization that he never wants to SURVIVE a wreck like that again.
