You'll get flack for AMD processors in a lot of Windows environments, but to speak english...... it is a good replacement to the Intel Celeron. For running business applications it is more than adequate, for gaming and server applications the extra money spent on a Intel P4 or AMD 64 is well spent. I wont nerd out completely but below is a link to some of the testing that does but says the same things. You can find similar results in testing easily online if you need more sleeping material.

Not sure if that helps. :cyclopsa:
Yeah if your not a highend gamer an AMD will work fine on a budget..
^More gamers use AMD than Intel. You just have to get the right AMD.
I guess its like the Chevy or Dodge debate. Chevy & dodge both make great stuff, & both make turds...& Mercedes is just too damn expensive

I always thought AMD always came short when it came to floating points..
They used to be worse on floating point... not anymore...
The biggest PITA about AMD processors is they like to overheat & burn up... I know some of the current ones have protection (FINALLY) but I don't think they all do.
Just make sure you put a large heatsink with a RELIABLE fan on it and you should be fine for years of service.
