Its about time to put some more street tires on the focus, and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. A friend of mine has a wrx and has put fuzions on his car and loves them. My current tires are Continental Conti-sport compacts. They have good dry grip, but if it rains I'm in trouble. Im looking for a tire with good wet and good dry traction, but I dont want to spend a bundle.

I'm a big fan of the Yoko AVS ES100s and the Kuhmo MX.. Both are good sporty sticky tires that won't break the bank...
I don't know what size you're looking for, but the Hankook Ventus RS-2's are getting popular for street and autocross use. (Cost a bit more than the 'old' Azeni's in 14")
Kumho makes a good and cheap tire..
Don't get ES100s. They're noisy, don't grip too well and have flimsy sidewalls.
Everybody seems to be impressed with the Ventus RS-2s, but if you are looking for a more comfortable, longer lasting tire take a look at the Falken ST-115s.
The MXs are great tires but they're a little more expensive.

I think the number needed to buy those is the 405 at the end... But based on the 12,000 miles I've got on my K106 Hankooks which have the same compound (but are only available on 16 inch and larger rims), I'll second that. They've got nice straight line grip and do great in the rain. Wear is extremely even on my car from 12,000 commuter/highway miles.Quote:
