I didn't even know ford was coming out with a new cup car. The photo of it is on the main page, and I don't like the front end.

It doesn't look any different than any current NAAAAHHHHHSSS-CAR!!!
Mind you, I've driven a Stock Car at TMS at very high speed and granted the speed is fun, I just can't see going left for 500 miles. But then again, that's just me...
I agree, I watch some NASCAR, road races mostly, but I'm more interested in the technology and cars. Like F1, I don't really like the racing, but I enjoy watching the technology and the speed.
I dig the road races as well but I don't like the idea that a team can bring in a ringer (specialist road racer) to drive the car.Quote:

So basically isn't this a sticker change from Taurus to Fusion???
Basically... that and I can't wait for Toyota to make it's debut! This should be a hoot 'n ' holler for the American iron boys!Quote:

I like the phone call Dave got on Wind Tunnel from an angry Dodge fan who boos Toyotas ant the truck races. Dave mentioned that Dodges were made in Canada, and Toyotas were made in Kentucky. Sure shut that dude up.
Yea but with a comon template that has to match the other kids cars, I can't imagine they changed much.Quote:

Yeah, I dont like the common template rule, It takes away all the identity a car has. The only way to distinguish between the cars is the stickers on the front ends. Those cars are way too aero-dependent.
Found this article: http://www.nascar.com/2005/news/busi...3/ford_fusion/
The wind tunnel stuff is for NASCAR to make sure all the cars are matched aerodynamically....
I say make them run all stock body panels. Like the actual pieces
I say run them like they did in the '70's... just gut the interiors and add a roll cage. Real stock cars!!
I remember loving the Buick Regals of the day racing around!
Its a common template with slight deviation for all manufacturers to ensure it has brand looks. Those looks also allow for NASCAR approved aero changes on front and back. Dodge's front end has caused them some issues because the front end of a charger just isn't aerodynamic. In the wind tunnel Ford already had a documented advantage with the Taurus looking car, this is is supposed to enhance that further.
I was gonna say, the dodge sure does look different this year. I thought they could make small changes.Quote:
