Oops.
This dude's lucky to be alive. If it had hit him when it went though the windshield, he easily could have lost control.
Beautiful car, though.

I guess he wanted to test the Mythbusters idea of a bird making it through an airplane windscreen. From what I have heard the guy was doing 155 when this occurred. Guess the Boxsters winshield just isnt that special. :-D
Also a good reason to drive with your top down (although at 155, that would be entertaining). It would have been less messy if the birdie had made a clean exit. :drive:

I haven't looked really closely at other aircraft, but a company I used to work for had a Lear 24B, so I saw it pretty regularly. In between the cockpit windows is a vertical metal bar shaped like a "T" with the bottom of the "T" protruding forward about an inch.
It's known as a "bird-splitter."

PS: You can see it in the photo below -- just some random Learjet I found on the 'net.
gross, that is the most disgusting thing I've seen in a while. :puker:
That's crazy...The driver is lucky the bird did not fly into the front of the driver's side.
That's just nasty...
So what was the bird clocked at? ;)
ahhh that poor car!
I love what they did with the new Boxter, beautiful!
Yeah shooting that bird through the windsheild just really puts the car in a class of its own! :drunken:Quote:
