Yes I have Firefox. Yes I use Firefox. Having said that, when I use IE and then exit it, IEXPLORE.EXE still stays active in Task Manager. WTF?

Doesn't happen here... I'm guessing you've got some infernal plug-in, adware, blow-up doll installed on your system that's keeping it from closing properly.
Any suggestions for a good blow-up doll scrubber?

Spybot is free, Sparky. It's what I use, along with Lavasoft's Ad-Aware.
You have to start with a mildly abrasive cleanser and then... uh... hmm...Quote:

I'll throw a cookie at ya... I use it too... It's surprisingly good - but then again, it wasn't a Microsoft developed application, they bought it from Giant.Quote:

The upside is, you free up tons of harddrive space and your system runs faster. The downside is it takes a good long day to do it all (from backing up files through reloading them after all the software installs are complete), and you'll undoubtedly forget to back up something and lose it. The thing most people forget to back up are their internet favorites and their fonts.
Need to introduce you to Norton Ghost.... Asside from the backup/restore of your personal files, it can handle rebuilding the drive in around 20 minutes or less (depending on how much stuff you install on it).Quote:

Turns out the 'Yahoo Toolbar' was the culprit. I uninstalled it and that solved the problem.
