Driver Death Rates...Miata

Sure it is not a happy subject but I am sure we all think about these things since we look up to see all the other cars/SUV's on the road.

The good news for a convertible sports car there are not a lot of deaths from roll overs.

Death Rates

How about injury collision data for 2000-2002 Miata. Look at bottom of the page.

Miata vs Cement truck. This is the one that bothers me. The truck bumper is higher than a Miata door. Pictures of a '99 Miata that got squeezed by a cement truck when it tried to merge right into the Miata, and pushed it into a curb.

Those stats are pretty interesting. Comparing the Camaro to the Miata shows why their insurance is so much higher. I drive about as defensively in the Miata as if I were on a motorcycle; I trust no one.

Shoot... I drive F-350s like I was on a motorcycle... I drive the Miata like I was on an invisible skateboard.
