Sounds like it's about time for another tech day...
Billy - unless you are using a pressure cap, vacuum device, or speedbleeders, you'll need 2 people to do it... I put speedbleeders on my car so I can swap out the fluid by myself.

If you want to come to Denton, I'll help you. I still do it the old school way, no speedbleeders, but that's just me. I got the tools.
Thanks Sharpie, I feel stupid asking this but what do I need to buy?
I mean what type of fluid? or anything else I might need.
Also I would need to know when you are available to help me.
I really appreciate it.
I will bring you a kewl shop light for helping me out, its new and I have a few so it's no big deal...and I want to.
Most of us use Valvoline Synthetic. It says for ABS, but works with Non-ABS also.
I remember not even 6 months ago when I got my miata, I was asking the same question...
That is the fluid of choice. Get the big bottle at AutoZone. (~$5)Quote:

It's no real hurry, it's looking pretty bad but I don't think enough for me not to pass tech this weekend.....the car is still stopping great.
I could be wrong though.
If it is dirty they won't pass it.Quote:

I didn't realize there was such a hurry. This is too busy off a week and weekend for me to help get it done. I hate to take back my offer, but I can't get it done before this weekend. I'm sorry.
You might also want to pick up a set of line wrenches (Great Neck $9). You will have less chance of rounding off the bleeder screws. They come in handy for other projects too.
Not to confuse you Sharpie, but it does not have to be this weekend.
I signed up to Auto X this weekend and we got to talking about the condition that the brake fluid needs to be in to pass tech before I can run.
If I have to, I will just miss this weekend til I can get the job done.
No big deal really, when you ask for help you can not delegate when you should receive the help right?
Just let me know when you can and I will make arrangements to fit your schedule.
Thanks again.
And thanks guys on the info about the brake fluid and special tools.
A team cheap bastard method that works OK is to get a turkey baster and suck out all the old brake fluid out of the reservoir then top it off with new fluid, it will clean it up a touch!
Be carefully when playing with brake fluid keep it of the paint!
Thanks POS, I figured with my luck the Damned brakes would fail....so I pulled my registration.....I will just have to go another time.
When I ignore my gut it usually makes me pay a pretty hefty fine, and I know I should change it.
Now I get to stare at that damned Helmet til next chance....LOL
oh well it will encourage me to get my shite together and I would rather be safe than sorry.
I'd do what POS said, and go use that new helmet! :burnrubr:
WOW, I just heard they are letting Tractors run.
Where's my Turkey Baster...lol
I'm thinking if they are letting Tractors run....I should be golden.
Thanks.
