Completely off topic but are you still able to do state inspections? If so, I need to swing by before the end of the month. Miata was borderline HC last year and I am hoping it will pass again this year.Quote:

both the manager and asst manager (mike and robert, respectively) would prolly do the same as me. remember, i didnt do anythign illegal, iwas just a lil cooler than most, letting you in on some inside tips and what not.
I'm confused... :confused:Quote:

I know I'm gonna take a bashing for suggesting this but here goes....
Put some alcohol in with your gas before you go to get it inspected. It will burn very clean. I have not ever had to do this but I know of people that have done it and they claim it works. Good Luck!
That's in the RX-7 Club's second gen section on how to pass an FI rotary at the inspection site... works like a charm for them. ::Clown::Quote:

I have been told just rubbing alcohol. Maybe racing alcohol would work. I'm sure Iain will chime in soon with a couple of pages on the subject ::Clown::
BTW never say never.....
They make a product called Heat that is used to get water out of gas. It is mostly alcohol so I really don't think it would hurt anything. Sounds like you just want to buy a new cat ::Clown::
Good Luck.......
Hey Black where is your timing set? Back in the day when I had the POSII it needed to be set back to 10 degrees for inspection purposes, or it would puke up a few too many hydrocarbons! I had about 155,000 on the OEM :cat: and it would pass with flying colors!
I tried a can of Heat and didn't have much luck... I ended up setting the timing back to normal and putting on a cat that was good... cleared it right up!
Nope. I don't know a damn thing about putting alcohol in your gasoline to help it pass emissions.Quote:
