Staff report
A man told police Sunday night that he was beaten and robbed and then a friend accidentally ran over his head.
Officers arrived at a house in the 1100 block of Johnson Street about 9:20 p.m. They found a man lying behind a house with blood on his face.
He was conscious and said he drove up to the house with another man in the front seat of his truck and a woman in the back seat.
He got out and asked the woman to exit the truck. They began arguing and the woman’s boyfriend walked up. She told the boyfriend the victim was assaulting her, he told police.
The boyfriend began beating the victim, and the woman got out and assisted, according to the police report. The victim’s friend, in the passenger seat, got out to help him but was afraid and got back inside the victim’s truck.
The pair who assaulted him then went through his pockets and took his property, the victim said. His friend became more afraid and slid across the seat under the wheel, according to the report. He put the truck in gear and drove away, accidentally running over the victim’s head.
The man, 32, was admitted to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. They are looking for the pair who beat and robbed him.
They also are looking for the friend. Detective David Stewart said the man is not in trouble but he needs to contact police because he is a witness to the crime.
Sounds like Titus had a wild Sunday night!
