Well the WRX was a no-show :( But I got 4 runs against the Cobra, I almost beat him in on the first run, but I realized that my clutch was slipping bad, so I let up, you can see it in the final results. He fetched me right before the traps. I was running at 18psi boost, so I dialed it down to 15psi for the next run, where I beat the Cobra by 4/100 of a second. Unfortunately he got his launches figured out and he beat me the last two runs by .8 seconds :(
My buddy had to go, so I ran a '97 Z28, and beat him by .9 seconds.
Below are my times

Did you run street tires (I'm guessing so due to your 60 ft times, which are great for street tires btw)? If so, did you lower the psi in the rear? Those mph numbers look a little low, so I'm guessing you had limited traction in 1st and most of 2nd :D and the clutch probably didn't help things too much. FWIW, the WRX would have had 1.7-1.8 60' times (if he could launch it properly), so you would have been playing catch-up. It would be interesting to see your numbers out at Ennis, I bet that 2nd 1/8 flies by ;)
Yep, street tires, at 20psi. However I really smoked up the clutch on the first run, so I was being easy on it the rest of the night. That's the first time I've had an ACT clutch slip, but I was running at 18psi, so I'm thinking I was too hard on the clutch at the launch, possibly giving it to much slip and getting too much boost prior to the clutch catching. second and third shifts were like an Automatic, I let off right after getting into third when I realized I wasn't accelerating as I should have been with the rpm's climbing like they were. I can still smell the clutch when I get in the car today. Traction wasn't a problem, due to the easier launch's. no wheel hop, no spinning. However, I always got the launch on the Cobra. I thought I would do better times as well, I really thought I'd be in the mid to low 8's. My purpose was to get some data logs, and I was able to get a couple. Found I am really rich up top, so I've leaned out the maps. I'm also throwing more timing up top, as the car seems to run out of steam in the higher rpms, The Cobra was catching me in second and/or third. Damn he was fast once he got it going.
TD
The 03-04 Cobra's respond very well to mods too; doesn't take much for them to run low 12's in the 1/4 :burnrubr: The night I took the RSX out, there were a few Mach 1's running right around 8.8-9.0's.
Sounds like you need to get the XT ;-) Your clutch slipping would explain the low trap speeds; at first I thought you meant it was just in the first 300' or so.
Either that or just a fresh clutch, it's got about 40k miles on it. However, it didn't slip the rest of the night, I just cooked it on that first run, and it cooked most of the way down the track. I think my low traps are from the car flatting out up top. Hopefully uping the timing and leaning out a bit will fix that.
i drive a pro-turbo f-body out there on fridays. I'll say high next time I see your car.
