The nice people at Palm sent me my free MP3 player Audio Kit!
Where would one go to get MP3 files? Since I am the :king: of cheap, I'd like to get some free files to see if I'm even going to mess with this MP3 stuff.

The easiest (and closest to home) source is your Windows PC and your CD collection... Does it play mp3 only or does it also support wma?
I used to go to here: http://www.kazaa.com/us/index.htm and download all my MP3's before the music police showed up. Before that, Napster was my MP3 site of choice.
I haven't tried Kazaa lately (6 mos. or so), but I know Napster is now a pay to play site! :x
i usually use my cd's to put them on my computer, or borrow cd's from friends. but if i really want a song (really really) i still use kazaa then i erase it out of my shared file as soon as i download it. but i havent used kazaa in a long time for music.
you could alwasy start drinking pepsi and hopefully win one of the millions of songs they are giving away, then you can go to napster and download it for free. <----- looks like an evil napster guy
tailchaser has a good point there. All you need is some 'ripper' software/freeware that will strip tracks off of a CD and convert them to MP3's. I'm not sure if WIN/XP has those functions built in now or not.Quote:

Well, if you want som Oompah music in MP3 format... :P
If you have a PC (and we know you do) that has a CD player, you can use a program called "Audiograbber" to pull the music from the PC's CD Player onto your harddrive. It will give you several file format options, including MP3. You can download Audiograbber HERE.
Now we know you'll only be doing this with music from CDs that you own...
:salut: Yes Sir! Thank You Sir! :salut: :wink:Quote:

Apples "itunes" is great for ripping cds into mp3s. Great for organizing them, and it includes a burn program if you have a cd burner. It's free too! I think you can find it at www.itunes.com .
KaZaa sucks.
Do a google for KaZaa Lite. All the fun of KaZaa without all the Spyware.
and you could use your neighbor's wireless connection that is wide open... Send the Feds to his/her house
NOTE: I said "could" not should...
