I just spoke with Brant at BRP and if he can get 4-5 99/00 guys to commit to the M2 Coldside he will do a run. In speaking to him, he asked if I would consider trading a free install for the use of the car in making the instructions.....hmmmmmm... HELL YES. I'll have to ship or drive the car to South Carolina....14hours....
So hopefully I will be the first coldside M45 M2..... fo shizzille.
Awesome, I've always been curious how a cold side would compare to a M62.
Are they about the same price range?
If the CS falls through, you can always call up Gary at TDR and buy a M62 from him (gotta support the local guys you know).

Who is Gary at TDR?
Gary owns Track Dog Racing in Plano. He is an authorized dealer and distributer for Brant. He designed and manufacturers the A/A intercoolers for the M62, and made a prototype for my greddy seen here http://www.trackdogracing.com/Other%...eddy_pix.shtml

An M45 coldside sounds interesting, but if it's close in price to the MP62, why not give the FM Ubercharger a try? Now that they're actually taking orders on them, it sounds like a great alternative to the MP62, with pretty minimal throttled volume (at least on the non-intercooled kit).
Drive to South Carolina and before and after the install you should go visit the Gap! That would be the trip of a lifetime. Some great highways around there - Blue Ridge Parkway NC... Visit the Biltmore in Asheville NC...
I notice BRP has created a new pilot program to allow owners of Jackson Racing Supercharger kits to trade their kits in toward the purchase of a new BRP MP62 Kit. 8) Will they allow you to take advantage of that offer with a cold side also?

I don't really see a clear advantage from the FM Uber over the M62. They can both produce enough power to blow a stock engine (especially the weak M2 engines). If I was gonna beef up an engine and go for big power, it wouldn't be with a blower though.
IMHO, the higher effiecency of the whipple vs. the M62 is negated when a proper intercooler is used.

The coldside is going to be $1395+$300 for the powercard which is kind of high, but cheap compaired to 5k for the Uber.
There is a lot of interesting development going on in SC for miatas the last couple of years. The Big Gulp guy has some great idea's. Time will tell if he will be around to support his products.
Brant at BR Performance has been instrumental in helping get power out of the M45 and developing the M62, so I am going with him. I already have the hotside setup, I just have to pay for the coldside kit, it is my cheapest upgrade. Plus I get to be the first.....
200 rwhp is my goal, hopefully I will see it.
