Anybody here named Murphy?

I was walking a police officer to a burglar alarm last night and we started talking about cars... I mentioned my Miata and he said he had a buddy that is involved with them in club racing or something to that effect and his name was Murphy (the officers name was Macchio). Anybody know who this is? He couldn't remember what he drives because he switched cars so often.
