We're going to Vegas to visit friends the first weekend in March. A consensus pick for a show to see is the Vegas version of The Price Is Right. I know this is a long shot, but has anyone been? And if so, would you recommend it?
And yes, I'm serious. Mock us if you will, but The Price Is Right is teh awesomeness! ::Banana:: ::Hyper:: ::Banana::

Saw this shortly after it opened a number of years ago. Still the best live show I've ever seen in Vegas, or anywhere else for that matter. The high-flying acrobatics will blow your mind, and the articulated, water filled stage just has to be seen to be believed.

Saw this last fall. This is more about the music and less about amazing acrobatics, although there are still plenty of Cirque Du Soleil's signature acts. The Beatles back catalog is great, and the show is just one great big peace and lovefest. If you have any appreciation for the Beatles at all, you'll leave this show with a smile on your face.

Catch a comedy show while you're there too. We saw Jim Gaffigan when we went a few years back. If you really want to hang out with all the blue-hairs at TPIR, enjoy!
Let me put it this way - we saw "O" about eight years ago, and it was so amazing and beautiful that we've compared every live show we've seen since to it. Do you think "The Price is Right, Vegas Edition" will leave the same kind of impression? :wink:
The wife and I went to the live version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire at Disney's California Adventure about 5 years ago when Millionaire was the hot show and on 5 nights a week. It was not memorable. I can't see Price is Right live being any more memorable. Go with something from the Cirque franchise.
Your points about Cirque are well taken. We've been to one Cirque show before and it was indeed jaw-dropping. The current problem is that Cirque tickets are a gazillion dollars (the cheapest being $92 for an "obstructed view" ::Whatev::).
Then again, Iain does give a rather ringing endorsement. We are also thinking about Bite, which is a topless vampire musical set to radio hits from the 80s and 90s. ::EvilBana (This group of friends is something of a mixed bag.)

When the Spousal Unit and I went to Vegas we saw "Skintight" at Harrah's. It was a great show and I got pulled up on stage during the burlesque strip routine. :D
The show's star is Shannon O'Keefe, ex-Playboy Centerfold.

+1 on "O"! Our whole wedding party went to see it. We got the seats up top for around $100 and it is a great view. You either sit back and up high and get to take in the whole experience or you can spend the big bucks, sit down near the stage, enjoy the incredible costumes, makeup and sets. There are a couple of "half price" ticket distributors that sell tickets for shows, the day of. You can get a good deal on the smaller comedy shows, but not that great of a deal on the cirque shows, La Reve, blue man, etc.
You might want to try Mystere at TI, they are the cheapest of the Cirque shows.
Or you can just go see a movie at the Cinemark Vegas 16. It's cheaper than the shows on the strip. Make sure that you bring your TCB card. ;)
My parents were in L.A. for a conference in about 1999. On a whim, Mom went with a friend to The Price Is Right. She ended up on stage and won... A NEW CAR! Spun the wheel, went to the showcase showdown, the whole bit. Needless to say, she had a great time...Quote:

I'm still in Vegas right now! Must agree with assessments of Stratosphere and O at Bellagio. Wanted to see the Beatles thing but they only had crap seats available.
