Just got an email stating we are running the 3.1 at the event....SWEEEET!!!::Banana::
Looks like Johnwag and I are going to MSR tomorrow morning on the standby list. We are 1 and 2 so I hope someone wusses out and doesn't want to run in the rain.
Good luck guys, just talked to a buddy who was enrolled and he wussed out. I expect with the early rain, there will be a few "lease" vehicles that opt not to run. Have a blast and enjoy the blind drop away apexes.
Hope you both have a good time!
no luck this time with the standby list...John got an instructor in the green group the first session but they made them go w/o helmets. There were no instructors available for me except a big ol boy... 350 pounder who said no way in hell was he going to fit in a Miata. He was actually waiting for his assignment who was late.I wasn't able to get on the track but from the looks of it I would say we were lucky. The standing water was horrible and there were literally streams running across the track in half a dozen spots. John said the braking areas was where most of the water was and by the number of "yard sales" we saw in all groups it was pretty hairy. Multiple offs in the instructor groups and every group that followed including the green. They couldn't open the 1.3 because of all the debris and were trying to clean it up for the afternoon sessions. The first run session was also delayed because they had two corner workers get stuck in the mud going out to their positions.
So John and I came home and I got a much needed nap and saved 300 dollars.
