Well, Town North Mazda was the golden child for several years, always getting our recommendations, but I keep seeing more and more bad experiences with them over the last 6 months. The latest can be found HERE. The times, they are a changing. As things at Town North have gone down hill, is it possible that other dealers hated for past transgressions have improved as much as TN has slid? Hopefully we will be able to identify another area dealer worthy of our business.
Who takes a car to a dealer for a dash replacement?? :confused:
Heck most dealers (and Altiain) have trouble just doing all the steps in the correct order on an oil change. ;)
If you need a dash replaced, you don't feel like you have the ability to do it yourself, and you don't know about www.MiataSolutions.com, the dealer seems like a reasonable decision.Quote:

I think jrj512 set something up with Hiley Hurst on parts, but not sure if anyone has bought anything yet.
Heck I have never used the Mazda dealer for anything other than parts, and even that seems to be a pain in the ::Bum:: . I had to special order drain plug washers for the oil, trans, and diff. They even managed to screw that up. I learned from my mistake and now buy the washers from the Autozone. It even saves me 10-20 cents per washer.
I don't think I will ever have my Miata serviced at the dealer.

As a plus though, they did check the engine out, redid the oil change, and cleaned out the underside of the car to help make up for the ::Censor:: -up.

While I was referring to "Our" Miata community and not my family, It still applies. I have not used the TN service center, but I am at the parts counter every month, and I nearly bought a car there a few years ago. We ended up buying a new Murano, but if we had picked up a Mazda it would have been to TN for any issues. Prior to that, we had an MPV that would have gone there if any issues ever come up. The Murano will be replaced next year, and there are several Mazdas on the list for consideration.Quote:

Hiley in Arlington has never done me wrong. I don't use them for oil changes and such, but they certainly treated me better the the dealer I bought the car from on the seatbelt/rollbar issue a few years ago.
Stuff fixed when they said and I never had to take anything back after it was supposed to be fixed.
While I was there I had to use them twice, Chantal (sp?) was the service advisor and even when someone tried to screw things up she kept them in line. There was a new service advisor there with her last time I was looking at left over MSMs, hes pretty useless.Quote:

I had an excellent experience at Hancock Mazda in Mesquite for the purchase and installation of the hardtop on my NC. I worked with the parts manager and the service manager and their people and it was terrific. I thought they were very customer- and enthusiast-oriented and understood my concern for attention to detail. It's only one experience so far but I will use them again.

I went to Hancock for one oil change and for the recent exhaust recall. My service adviser was Mike Jaramillo. They were very nice, prompt and happy to answer all my questions. When we started talking about the seats, he looked up the cost for a new set of factory seat covers, shook his head and called the parts guy and got me a few recommendations for local shops to get mine recovered at since that would be a lot cheaper than what the dealership could do. :shock: I'm not a big fan of dealerships in general, but I would consider them above most any others I've dealt with.
