PCA Maverick Region Time Trail #5 6/30 at Mineral Wells
The next PCA Time Trail is coming up on Saturday 6/30. I had a great time at the last one. If you have never been to one, then you should give it a try. It is still a coned course, but it is designed to mimic a road course rather than an autocross track. Unlike an AX course that is different for each race, they just keep rotating through the same three courses for a TT. You can see them at http://mav.pca.org/Events/Autocross/...ingOverlay.htm. I do not know which course they will use on Saturday, but they used 3 and 1 the last two times, so I guess it will be course 2.
You will get about 30 minutes of practice, where you can drive the course at a lower speed. After the driver's meeting, when you start your runs, you will get a warm up lap and then three non-stop timed laps. You will then work the course, have lunch, and do it again in the afternoon. If things go quickly, they will sometimes bump it up to four or more timed laps in the afternoon.
I don't think that it is quite as exciting at an AX, but it is still a lot of fun in its own right. Plus you get a lot of seat time with the practice time and all, so fill you tank higher than you would for an AX.

You do not need a roll bar, nor do you need to leave your top up.
