PCA Maverick usually has some pretty good courses, so since there is not another AX on the same day, then I will probably head on out to this one.

It's been years since I have done a PCA event. Do you know what the cost is, and do you have to preregister or can you register on site ?
I'll be in Arizona, relaxing. ;)
Might run it in the Miata if I can find some decent tires and get it aligned by then.
I plan to make this one... That way I can get more seat time, seat time, seat time. I have not been out there before so maybe I can meet a west-sider that morning and follow them out. Any volunteers???
Hmmm. I notice that they require a M or SA2000 helmet. I wonder If they are really strict about this or would I be able to get by with my '95 vintage helmet?
Anybody else going to attend this event? Sunday is starting to look fairly rain-free. I'm sick of rain. Got to get out of the house!
I will be at the McDonalds on I-20 at the Ranch House Rd. exit just this side of Weatherford from 7 AM to 7:30 AM.
It was nice to see some familiar faces out there -- Mark52, Lost216, and CosmosMpower.
Ted the Red, what happened to you? I sat there at McDonalds this morning looking like I was stood up on a date, and you're not even my type! :punchout:
I heard a lot of comments about Mark52's car. It seems people were really impressed with the flat cornering. He was in contention for FTD, but fell to Vassey.
Lost216 got me by about 1.5 seconds! How'd he do that!?!? ::Rant:: Not sure how much (if any) had to do with his 205 (versus my 195) tires, but good job Lost216!
It was in interesting course that included an unusual six-cone slalom (where the fourth cone was offset) and a figure-eight/skid pad. Over all, I liked the course a lot. Thanks to MiataMoto for helping me with my loops earlier this season!
There was a minor incident where a friend of CosmosMpower fell off the back of a pick-up truck ferrying people to the corners. An ambulance came, but he was ultimately taken by car to the hospital for a few stitches. From what I understand, he is okay.
We got about 90% of the runs in before the rain hit and ended the event. Luckily us Miata folk got all of our runs. ::Banana::
Overall, it was a good day.
Sorry about the no show! My wife apparently made other plans for me and the kids that I didn't know about until last minute.
Glad to see that the course was good and all had a good time.
Pretty fun event except for the head smacking incident. He was fine but just leaving the hospital around 2:15 with a few staples in his head. I got a picture of the ambulence on course which I'll try and get him to send to me. Course was decent, and the torrential downpour sucked. Thanks to jrj512 for the sweatshirt, it was nice to drive 1.5 hours home only half wet :D
