My Millenia S won't go into 2nd gear and has a P0755 code (shift solenoid B malfunction). I only have 1st and reverse gear.
My question to you all is that can I just replace the "solenoid B" to get it running again OR have to do a total rebuild of the tranny? :confused:
I left it at a transmission shop and they want to do a rebuild of the tranny for between $1,800 to $2,000! :-(
As you can tell I don't know enough if I am being taken or not. Your valuable suggestion is much appreciated!
Tranny shops like to sell rebuild kits...
Try Lewisville Transmission on Mill Street. When we had our Grand Cherokee they replaced a solenoid for us at around 121k miles.
It ended up needing rebuilding at 150k but hey, we were in a bind at the time. They were honest with us in telling us that the solenoid was bad and it would need rebuilding "soon" but the solenoid was the only thing that needed at that time.
