Splain' it to me...
What does that mean to us in the Metromess?
Nothing, I guess... unless you're a rally fan.
No SCCA ProRally means the likelihood of the US ever getting a round of the World Rally Championship is nil. It also means the end of SCCA Club Rally, which means that there really isn't anywhere for amateur stage rally racers to participate anymore.
It also means no more ProRally coverage on Speed, which will inevitably mean another hour of NASCAR programming every week. I can see it now - "Tune in to Speed tonight at 8pm for the NASCAR edition of Trading Spaces! Two pit crews, two days, two designers, two garages. Will they like the end results?"
As someone who loves watching stage rallies, whether it's ProRally or WRC or something like the Dakar Rally, I'm disappointed to see this happen.
That sucks. I wonder if it has anything to do with the deaths this year. Lawsuit?
Just got an email from the Texas Rally Group. The Thanksgiving event in Paris TX is still on, and another group is planning to sanction events for next year.
I was thinking of a road trip up there for the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We'll see . . .
Man! That would be a fun event in my old stomping grounds...
But I'll be out slaughtering Bambi that weekend ;)
I am afraid it is a bad weekend for all.
