Thats a good point.
All of us infer that the people in the commercial have comprensive coverage or any coverage at all.
The commercial was maybe only suggesting the people screwing up their car so they have an excuse for their loved ones to get a new car.
At no time did it show them filing a false claim or recieving an insurance settlement check.
I have a few people in my family that only carry liability... they pay cash for their cars.
However said act would destroy their asset and devalue it to a point to make the idea ludicris.
Also we are asssuming that the people if their goal was to commit insurance fraud would result in a totaled vehicle. I know a guy that bought a $23K Prelude, 3 days later he had an accident with some frame damage that ended up running a $16K tab. There goes his resale.
