non-intercooled turbo with the turbo in front of the moto and next to the intake sucking hot turbo air plus heat soak from the turbo and down pipe not being behind the motor. no thanks

intake proximity to the turbo would be more of a problem if it were behind the longitudinally mounted engine. At any speed above a stop the airflow to the front of the engine should be enough to make for ambient intake temps.
RETRACTED: Their s/c was non-intercooled as well. So it's no surprise. I see it more as an opportunity than anything else :)
EDIT: I didn't realize this, but a quick Google search revealed that this motor has actually won the "International Engine of the Year" award in the 1.4-litre to 1.8-litre class 2 years running. - http://www.ukipme.com/engineoftheyea..._08/14_18.html
You're right. I mis-spoke.
And after doing some more research I found that the Turbo variant is intercooled (sketchy-looking front-mount)...and it draws air from the cold side of the engine.
