Since the 8 is still not sold, I am IN this Sat.
See some of you out there, look for a skinny Asian guy in a black RX-8. :D
Awesome event yesterday!
OK, so the Intermediate group got black flagged a couple of times (A Miata lost a wheel on track - just say no to plastic hubcentric rings), but overall it was a great day. I forgot just how much fun the 1.3 can be. It's quite a roller coaster ride, with lots of elevation changes!
Good to see all the usual suspects out there yesterday. Alan, good luck with the baby - hope everything goes well!
Apex2Apex,
I saw you out there yesterday. I do apologize for not introducing myself. I had two students and was very busy. Hope you had fun!!
Iain and Ken,
Great running with you guys.
Iain, I thank you for the well wishes on our baby girl. I will let everyone know when Emma makes it into this world.:D
Ken, I finally broke into the 1:10s on the 1.3. Maybe, I can get to the 1:08s, probably not!
Alan
Couldn't have asked for a better time and weather!
I learned a lot in the advanced group. 4 of us students took turns and logged data into the performance boxes, and Keith took the time to analysis the data with us.
I went from being very timid going up the hill and into the towel bowl, to almost going full throttle. Also going down the Ss much better and late apexing the left turn down the bottle of the hill hairpin. Still around 2.5 secs behind Keith in his spec miata. But I am quite happy with my progress.
Alan, sorry that I missed you. Good luck with the baby!
Alan
That was a blast! Love the 1.3. I managed a 1:08.7 setting start/finish on the main straight. Love the NT-01s
Can it be true? Did smartmx5 actually get dirt on the world's cleanest Spec Miata? Click here to see it for yourself!
Guilty as charged. Kind of like getting your hand caught in the cookie jar.;)
That was the beginning. I ended up with only two wheels off. I never got off the throttle. I really need to buy that picture. People don't believe me when I tell them I have drifted the Miata....:rolleyes
Thanks for pointing that one out, Iain!!;)
