Anyway... I dunno, I guess I am the only person on the 'net that doesn't like the styling. I can understand it has to be extremely difficult for the designers of the NC to bring a product that would appeal to the traditional Miata enthusiast and attract new customers to the marque. However the Ibuki-crap front end looks tacky so do the square style bars, and don't get me started on the worst automotive trend of the last decade, "gay-tezza" taillights. The interior is the only strong point on the car, and that it has a RX-8-non-DIN-style radio irks me, and will irk the future modders of that car. I hope that it doens't weigh a ton, however I wouldn't doubt it weighs more than the 22lbs earlier posted.

IMHO - I'll take my M2 over that car ANYDAY.....

i really don't like the front of it at all.

Nice, but not good enough for me to run out to buy one. Any info. on the wheel base and tract width?

Here's the NC compared to the Ibuki. It's interesting to see that many of the NC cues were indeed present on the concept, even things that people don't like, such as the wheel flares. I dunno. Somehow the Ibuki gets the details "right" and the NC gets them "sorta right". As they say, God is in the details...

Must say, that is the best looking "top-up" Miata yet, very nice profile!

You've gotta admit that's probably a better solution than the current cupholders. :wink:

Actually, 6700rpm is the power peak (about the same as a non-MSM NB). I haven't seen any published data on the actual physical redline.

Looking at the rest of the Autoweek pictures, I've changed my mind about the exterior. It looks pretty good form most angles (especially the side profile). The interior is still a little "bitty" for me, though.

Overall, I think I'm starting to warm up to it! :mrgreen:

I was basing that redline on the picture of the tachometer. The looks are growing on me. The front still looks too "angry", and not in a good way. The overall shape is great. Redo the front end a little bit and I could love it. The interior looks very German to me, almost like a BMW. I could buy this car, but I'm not smitten by it.

The wheelbase is stretched by a good bit over the NA/NB, and one of the top complaints about the NA?NB is lack of interior space, so I'll bet this one is quite a bit roomier inside.

Anyone else notice that the speedo goes to 150, with 100 straight up. 8)

I will shave my genitals if that thing can go 150mph. My MSM has a 150mph speedo, even though it redlines at 128 in 6th. :oops:

My wife's 9-2X is much more honest: its speedo tops out at 120mph. That's Subaru's engineering integrity for ya! :thumrigh:

I really like 100 straight up.... not sure why, but it just seems really cool. 8) Perhaps it's the idea of being able to tell if you broke into 3 digits on the straight away while still keeping your eyes on the turn coming up. You can just sense when you have crossed straight up, without really looking.

isnt that car bigger overall compared to the na and nb? looks a bit larger, as the guy is sitting way down in the car.

I like the car, I probably won't buy one right away, but someday maybe. I think it looks sharp.

Less than an inch longer overall, but over two inches wider. However, the wheelbase has grown by over three inches, front track is up over three inches ( :shock: ), and rear track is up almost three inches, iirc.
