Do you even know your neighbors? I have had a bounce house for my daughter's birthday the last two years. I never invited anyone from the neighborhood. I don't know them, and I'm not gonna invite strangers to a B-day party. I don't know why you have to make it personal.

Explaining to your kid that she doesnt get to have what other kids have just because they have it is a good thing.
I got to see all the kids I knew go into cub scouts, my folks couldnt buy me the uniform because we were poor. Yeah I was disapointed but I was still friends with the other kids.
Growing up feeling you are some how intitled to have what others do because its a moral issue is a bad thing.
I think its probably for the best, kids seem to be getting more and more smart so it makes sense that they should learn these lessons in life at a younger age.
Being a dad is a hard thing BR. Congrats on the new digs!
Man, now all I can think of is how much fun it would be to jump around a bounce house again.

GySgt of mine that is stationed elsewhere now rented a bounce house for his kids bday and invited everyone from work. Around 9ish the kids all went to bed and the beer came out. It only took about 10 minutes for us to get the idea to get in the bounce house with beer :)It was a huge one took up their whole backyard and had a slide on it. We were playing in that bounce house getting drunk till probably 2 in the morning. One of the best time I've ever had drinking :)
I went to a kid's birthday party with my cousins in Austin, and it didn't take long for the adults to drink enough beer to run the kids out of the bounce house and commandeer it for our own fun. Good times...
Ahhh I remember the christmas in july party. Decorated the yard x-mas style had a bounce house and lots of girls, college girls can't resist a bounce house...
