I don't know how I'll get it up the driveway, but I can work on that later.

Lol. I think Trey was drooling over the trailer, not the Targa...
You tease. Give us the skinny on these rigs.
I'd love to build one like the last pic.
"Per Schroeder - There are pics of the trailer on our project car page--it tilts/drops down to allow the car to roll off w/o ramps. Pretty clever--Designed by Red LeGrand in the early 1970s. This one was built by Red (like the car) in 1975." GrassRootsMotorsports Magazine
Yeah but all the coolness of that trailer is negated by the minivan pulling it.
Just remember to put the pin back in before you drive off.
Trey, where do you store the car?
I have a whole file of trailer pics that are Miata sized.
Some dating back a few years. ;)
Tanner has towed all over the continent with his single axle, no problems.
It lives in my apartment garage. I'm half way tempted to get plans and a MIG and go to town.
So why not build/have built a trailer that will fit in the garage and store the car on it.
I plan to build one myself and that is my plan............since I'm so limited on space. ;)
I'll use a 3500lb torsion bar axle, that will let me get it as low as i want.
since they're independent, they ride better than our cars. :smooth:
Heres a underside pic of Tanners
I wonder if anyone has made a double axle trailer like that. My new race car is too wide to fit between the fenderwells on my dove-tail car hauler. It is too low to get up the ramps on my flatbed. I was going to weld a dove tail on my flatbed and redo the ramps. Now I'm thinking I could just make the axles drop down. The trick will be raising a 1800 pound trailer back up with a 3000 pound car on the deck. I see a $100 harbor freight hydraulic ram in my future.
When you go to Hallett, find the lady that used to organize it prior to the current administration. I can't remember her name, but I'm sure Gary knows it. Her husband has the perfect little Miata trailer that he got for a song. I'm sure whoever made it could replicate it...
