Is this event drawing participation away from the BMW event on 7/28?
I agree with JJ. Maybe 10 regulars who do both clubs. With these events being almost 100 miles apart, they probably aren't competing even that much.
Event attendance in 100+ degree weather is always down a little. I see this as a perfect example of how great the DFW autocross scene is: two days, two events, 2 different sites, one club with SCCA classing and tight competition, another with fun, simple classing and a TON of runs, both under $40 = Winning!
::Banana::It just goes to show how sick I am. I'm doing both.::Banana::
Thanks. I think I screwed something up... I logged in to the car/class registered, and now that I've changed that, it wants me to pay again, and I'm no longer registered for the event, even though I prepaid for the season. Help? :(
EDIT: I think I'll be driving the Miata anyway, I should have just left it alone..
Oh cool. The 'Total Driving Experience' Corvette thing, or something else?
Thinking about signing up. How many runs are there usually?
Thanks! I should be there.
We are considering a different grid location to speed-up staging and improve the ability of drivers to watch each others' runs. I'm posting both map versions, but the final decision will be made on-site. The only real difference is how close the course comes to the grid area.
I will make the BMW event but will be instructing in Ferraris and Lamborghinis at TMS on Sunday.
The tech inspectors don't really know all the classing rules except for the classes they run. B-Mod and ESP. The rule book is free download on the SCCA.com website. Just pick the classes that your Miata might be eligible for and then read what modifications are allowed for each class to see if it is eligible. The rule book gives allowed modifications so if it doesn't specifically say you can do something then it is illegal for the class.
