Who builds cages in the DFW area?

Which is more likely, rolling the car at an event, or getting hit on the way to the event by cindy highschooler texting while driving?

Blackbird welds the front hoop to the A-Pillar. I think his street cage looks very well built, and looks relatively safe for a street driven cage. I agree that it's not as sturdy as having the cross supports at the corners, but it's far from a fail...

Until the a-pillar bar bends and pins you in the car. You also get no pedal box protection. What's the point? That A-pillar will not sustain a roll-over.

The A-pillar is worthless on it's own. But The way it's done on his cage increases the moment of inertia and increases its resistance to bending. Go back and look at post #6 on the miata.net thread (reposted below) and try to tell me that that A-Pillar setup is going to collapse in a roll. It's not.

Wow. There isn't a single decent weld in the bunch. Death trap, because you'd be impaled on all those poles when the welds snap in a fender bender.

I'd check with Janco Products in Wylie. He is a local Axer and does really nice work. Ask for Kurt and their number is 972-442-6558

Kurt will work with weld up kits, or completely custom. He can build light, strong, whatever your desires are, there are many autocross, NASA, and drag cars around with his work, including a miata or 2.
